This week I talked to my old friend and partner Jimmy Olander. Jimmy and I were friends long before Diamond Rio ever got started and after a 2 hour phone call with him and 2 auditions with the band I
became part of the band. Jimmy and his guitar have been a stamp on Diamond Rio Music from the very beginning and now with our latest CD “The Reason” his producing and song writing abilities shine more than ever. We have experienced some of the greatest things in life standing beside one another for the past 20 yrs. and I consider this CD one of them. So listen in while we feature “The Reason” and Jimmy Olander!

This show is some kind of cool guys! I don’t know why I haven’t done it before but the time has come FINALLY! The “KING” that’s right the big”E” none other than “ELVIS“. One of the very few in all of show business that don’t even need a last name. Like I said there are a few others but how many that have been gone for 33 years? WOW can you believe it? I know some of you weren’t born while he was here but I bet you know his music and his name for sure. Well, here is another look into the past at one of or the biggest phenomenon in music history. A bunch of my favorites and just a little insight straight from ME. Who else? Sit back and see how many of your memories I can stir up.

Man is it HOT out or what and this week it’s going to be HOT too on the Dana Williams Show. We have now been members of the Grand Ole Opry going on 13 years and for most of that time the General Manager of the Opry Has been Pete Fisher. You might have seen him on TV introducing new members to the Opry or special occasions of some sort but he is and has been a very special guy to the Opry. He has made great changes and brought the Opry to places no one would have ever thought, such as Carnegie Hall, New York City, Television. Needless to say the Opry is his passion but there is a lot more to him than just the Opry. From studying trumpet then recording industry management to music publishing and artist management you will find that his career leading him to be the Opry Manager has been very interesting and I know you will enjoy hearing, not to mention some of the music that Pete brought is really Great! So the next time your at the Opry, now you will know the real scoop on the Man Behind the scenes, Pete Fisher

Well friends here is a show that I have had since January and the time has come. I can not keep it to myself any longer. This is a fellow that I have known since 1987 or so when he was the premiere demo singer in Nashville. Go figure though, as Meet in the Middle was going up the charts in 1991 so was his first single “Only Here For A Little While”. Yes friends that’s right. I’m talking about none other than, Billy Dean! One of the most talented guys in Nashville. Singer, Songwriter, Musician, Producer, I’m telling you it doesn’t get any better. In this show you will learn what his real name is, what he is doing today, a new CD he has out and he may even pick a guitar up and sing for you right in the middle of it all! This is a guy that helped me thru some mighty hard times and I will never forget it. It makes me so proud to call him friend and to present him to you in a way you may never have heard him. Here is Billy Dean !

I got to tell you guys. I have really come the love the band “Cherryholmes” and here they come with a brand new CD called “Cherryholmes IV-Common Threads” and you are going to love it. It hits the stores June 1st and The Dana Williams Show. Cia has joined me and, I might add, my first return guest and we go thru this CD track by track and get as much scoop as possible on each and every song. There’s nothing like hearing about the writing and recording of a CD straight from the source and Cia does NOT let us down. I invite you to sit back and enjoy one of the most talented and musical families I have ever heard. This is “Cherryholmes”!

Rhonda Vincent! Wow where do I start? I met Rhonda in passing several years ago and just recently we became friends on Facebook and that’s when I started paying attention. I kept seeing her post and seeing her pictures and from that I started to get to know her. I know, kind of weird, but no joke thru Facebook I got to know her personality, her music, her likes and dislikes, I swear it seemed like I had known her for years so I sent her a message and ask her if she would come and be on my show. She immediately said, “Sure Thing, just tell me when” so after getting our 2 schedules together she sent me a picture of her walking out the door and sure enough 35 minutes later she was standing at my door bearing some Martha White Goodies! She came in and Me, my wife Deanna and her started right in talking like we had known one another for years. She was and is everything I thought she would be and more. What a beautiful person she is and here is your chance to get to know her too! Here she is, One hard workin’,hot pickin’,Sweet singin’, Martha White cookin’ woman, Rhonda Vincent!

Well guys here ya go. A guy that I met early in my Rio career and the beginning of his. So early in his that he even rode our crew bus on some shows that he was opening. He is such a incredible talent now and then. My gosh the first time I heard him on stage it completely blew me away and then when the hits started coming from him I just knew this guy is special. His career took off like crazy and ours kept on chuggin’ and we kind of lost touch for a few years but over the last year we have re-connected so one day this past winter I called him and ask him to would come over and lets play some music and visit and he said ABSOLUTELY! I am so proud he said yes and to have him on the Dana Williams Show not to mention him bringing his new cd“Dustbowl Dreams”. This is a record that he poured his heart and soul into. The writing, the recording, the producing, the mixing, the everything! Man it’s good! I want you all to just sit back and be the fly on the wall AND find out just what it really was like to sing with SHANIA! Ladies and Gentleman, This is Bryan White!

Ok guys I know that I have said things like legend, hero, great friend, singer, song writer, musician before but this weeks guest has a special spot in my heart like very few do. I have loved his music and pickin’ for longer than him or I care to think about. I got the opportunity to meet and get to know this man when he signed a record deal with Arista Records when we were there. I got the chance to record with him and celebrate Merle Haggard going into the “Country Music Hall of Fame” by his side. What a unbelievable honor for me. I wish there was a way I could explain in words, exactly how I feel about this guy.
Steve Wariner is one of the nicest guys in my life and in Country Music. He came to my house, brought his guitar and we hung out and even took some picture’s and I had the recorder running the whole time just for you. What a wonderful moment in time for me. Here is my friend Steve Wariner!

WOW, what a show this is! Two great guests from similar worlds but OH so different. She comes from left coast(CA) and he comes from the right(VA). She is a great singer, songwriter and Banjo player in one of the best family bluegrass bands i have ever heard. He is a great singer, songwriter and piano player in a band that could be bluegrass, country, R&B, folk or whatever they need to be I guess.
I got to tell you folks, I am a new fan of both of them and you will be too if you just give a listen to “Cherryholmes” and “Mountain Heart” ! I’m tellin’ ya, you are going to love these groups and these 2 very special voices. Say hello to Cia Cherryholmes and Josh Shilling !
